Rub-ons

Do you have far too many Rub-ons? If your anything like me then you've probably purchased more than one could ever possibly get through. They are so much fun, they are great for layering a particular piece, you can even stamp underneath them, and of course when you see one on a piece of art especially for me if its vintage in any way shape or form I just have to have it so I can create my own.

Here I have transformed some baby food jars that I am now using in my craft studio. All of the jars I have placed rub-ons on, except one of which you will notice has clocks going round the belly.... this is actually a stamped image on some acetate.

Some of the rub-ons can be quite stuburn....I cut out the desired rub-on then placed a small amount of tape on to assist holding it in place then started to use a bone folder to rub them onto the glass. This can take time...you will need a little patience..... Ok maybe more than a little.

The Lids: I spray painted them with glossy black paint from the discount shop, placed a hole in the middle then added the knobs. Its that simple. The knobs I have used are produced by Tim Holtz Ideaology.

Tip: When spray painting I never spray paint on paper as it always sticks....I like to use a large sheet of thick plastic in the garage (somewhere well ventilated and where theres no wind) .

When finished fill them with your crafty embellishments. I'm a big believer in that if you can see it then you will probably use it.
I've really enjoyed decorating these jars....if you decide to give it a go I'd love to hear about it...drop me a line so I can visit your link.

A little something for the Laundry too.

Thanks for dropping by.  I understand  time is very precious especially when you get some to yourself.....I hope you've enjoyed todays post...enjoy the rest of your day.

Welcome Beautiful Baby!

Hello and welcome.

Today I would like to share with you a selection of  baby cards I have made. They are all quite different in the techniques and tools used.

This was a fun card to make that opens up slightly different. The initial is chipboard that has been glittered. The clothes line is a rubon, just gorgeous. I also used my poker dot embossing folder to emboss the white card stock.

A fishing Frog.

I love the Peter Rabbit range of rubons and accessories.

Matching envelopes are a must and  to stand out from all the other mail in the letterbox is special.

WOW Twin Boys!! My 1st twin card order.

This card snuck in. I made this for a little girl who hadn't been well.
Of course the butterflies mailed it to her!!

This is one of my all time favourites with the matching Tag. I just adore this pram stamp.

This card was made using some cheaper cards for the background that I cut up as on they're own they weren't much at all. Added some ribbon, rubons and a little badge.

Thanks so much for taking the time to pop on over today. If you have any questions or comments just pop me a line. I love hearing from you all.

Until next time...

Happy Birthday Sweet Boy!

Happy Birthday sweet boy!

Today I share with you this Sweet Boy card.

This card has 3 layers of paper that have been inked and  distressed with Faded Jeans and Frayed Burlap.  On the 1st piece I have added a hinge on the left and a keyhole and key on the right. Placed the next two layers of paper down, then added the Image in the centre.
On the top right corner I have placed 3 tickets a brad with hanger, a blanket pin and corner embellishment.
On the bottom left I have placed a feather some hessian, a brad and a pin.
The bottom right hand corner has a die cut number and letters.

I have placed on the envelope a die cut of the world, placed some clock hands to it and inked the edges.

I really enjoyed making this card. Hope you like it too!

Have a great day!

Tempus Fugit

Happy New Year.....may this year be a safe and Happy one! Hug and Love your children because as the tag suggests Time Flies!!!

Clock Sale......

Today I would like to share with you a tag I made......

I started off with a plain black tag, which I stamped with clocks and the saying Tempus Fugit in white ink.
(Tempus fugit is a Latin expression meaning "time flees", more commonly translated as "time flies". It is frequently used as an inscription on clocks.)

I have stamped some large Pocket Watches onto white cardstock, cut them out, put a little gold pen on and added Glossy Accents to the clock faces.  On the right hand side I have used Shrinky Dinks with the same pocket watch stamp and with one of the shrinkies I only heated it part way so the clock remained folded over for a different look.

I also stamped a sign and fussy cut it inked the edges and stamped SALE.

I've inked up a small tag from the newsagency with Vintage Photo and stamped a price on it. (I truly am trying to use my other ink pads whom are being neglected) I just love Vintage Photo!!! Haha! Finish off with alittle red ribbon.

Hope your enjoying the day and if your in Australia aren't struggling with the heat wave on right now. Crank up the Air conditioners!!!

Cheers for now.
