Karen, my life would be empty without crafting. I love to create cards and mini albums and gifts for people - anything to put a smile on a face and warmth in a heart.

Happy New Year!

I love your sweet vintage style, and so enjoy your blog posts. I think one of my favorite techniques is to use my supplies in ways other than what they were designed for. I often come up with some fun surprises. Thanks for the giveaway, and congratulations on achieving your goal.

For me crafting is one of the best way to express oneself. Creativity has the limits one gives himself so they always can be moved and pushed further. Thanks Karen for the chance given here ! Happy crafting!

Huge congrats on your century (your work deserves to have ten times more!), and what a lovely giveaway to celebrate with. There's so much I love about crafting - not least this generous world of online crafters, full of inspiration - but one of the things I love most is the sense of creating something out of nothing (or out of not very much at least)... this thing that is now on the table in front of me which is made up not only of the actual ingredients but somehow has part of me, or my imagination, or my spirit - or whatever it is - in the mix.

Congratulations again, and thanks for the constant inspiration, and here's to the next 100!

Congrats, Karen on reaching 100 followers!! That's just awesome and quite the feat for us humble crafters :) I'm already a follower and part of those 100 people who just love your style and enjoy your blog :)
OK--so you asked what I like most about crafting? Well, having a creative community available online and through having blogs--I just love all of the new crafty, artistic friends that I have met because of blogging.
And, I love making my own backgrounds :) I learned that from one of our fav guys-Tim Holtz! That has completely opened up how I create-I've come a long way, baby!! :)
Congrats again, Karen!! Cheers to more and more followers :) XOXO-Shari

Woo Hoo!! Congrats on your over 100!!!
I am a follower and a fan!!I think the tip I would like to share is about recycling- I always save the packages from the embellishments ,elements or even stencil packaging- many times, some of these companies, for example, Prima & Tim Holtz come decorated and these are sturdy and work well as a substrate for mini art pieces!

Thanks for your generosity! hugs and best wishes

First I want to thank you for introducing me to Funky Junkie! I had not been aware of this place until now. As to your question - What I love about crafting is that I can take my daydreams and give them life. Bits of memories, imaginings and hopes are stitched, glued, stamped, painted, embossed, die cut, etc., and somehow it all is given birth to something I can hold in my hand. Those wisps of dreams that skitter away when you open your eyes can find their way back in art.

Hi Karen,
Woo Hoo! Congrats on making that milestone of 100 followers! And it's no wonder! You are such a talented artist, we don't want to miss a thing! And you are so kind to pay my blog a visit and leave your sweet, generous comments!
Anywho...on to this reason why I craft...it's part of life for me, like breathing and eating and sleeping. I have to do something each and everyday, even if it ends up in the trash. It's my therapy, my rock, my strength, my soul. I wonder what people who don't craft do to find balance in their lives.
As for my favorite technique it is hands down the old spritz and flick! So much bang for your creative buck! Followed extremely closely by distressed edges. Pretty much old stand-bys, but I'm always willing to try whatever catches my eye at the moment.
Thanks for a most generous giveaway. Since the 17th is my birthday, it would be a hoot if I might be the lucky winner!

PS I would like to second what Ancient Wanderer said! Amen, sister!

Congratulations Karen! How generous to share not only your talent but also a chance to shop at The Funkie Junkie Boutique. My favorite crafting tool right now is stencils...they are so versatile. You can use them with paints, texture paste, or embossing powders.

I just found your blog. Your projects are fabulous! I love making cards and home decorating items in a variety of styles. My favorite tip is to keep organized and tidy up after each project. Crafting is so much more enjoyable when I can find my supplies and have room on my table!
